Americans with Disabilities Act – Employment
Issues (3 hours)
Interactive discussion addressing the range of disability issues in
employment including: definition of a disability and how it is documented;
reasonable accommodations, both employee and supervisor responsibilities;
what to do/not do during the recruiting/hiring process; and dealing
with performance issues related to a disability.

Harassment: Who, What, When, Why (2 hours)
Interactive workshop using a video and/or case studies and discussion
of when behaviors qualify as discriminatory harassment. Who is most
likely to engage in harassment as well as who is most likely to be
harassed, what can be done to address concerns about being harassed,
and why harassment occurs will also be discussed. Focus will be on
sexual harassment with more limited discussion of other types of
harassment.

Supervisors: How to Address Issues of Discrimination (2 hours)
This workshop is an interactive discussion of supervisory responsibilities
for addressing allegations of discrimination, including harassment.
Suggestions are provided for addressing student issues against employees
as well as employee to employee issues. Issues to be aware of when
a supervisor is accused of discrimination will also be discussed.
Case studies used to inform discussion.

Diversity/Discrimination/EO/AA: The Basics (2 hours)
This workshop is for those with little or no exposure to diversity,
discrimination and/or equal opportunity issues. Through videos, case
studies and discussion, participants will learn when/how discrimination
occurs, basic issues related to assuring equal opportunity and how
diversity, discrimination and equal opportunity are different but related
issues.
